Check the duration of a campaign: If a competitor has been running an AdWords or any other advertising campaign for a while, there is a good chance it was a success. If the ad copy was only used for a short time, you could assume that either it was not bringing in enough traffic or it was because that was relevant to just a specific fashion, holiday or event.

Over the past few months, we have been receiving a lot of requests from people to review SEMrush. One big reason is that it is touted as one of the best SEO software out there especially when compared to competitors like Ahrefs and Majestic. Don’t take me wrong both Majestic and Ahrefs are great, too but SEMrush has its own set of unique strengths that when leveraged properly can yield excellent results in the form of favorable rankings. That’s why we’ve taken the time and put in a lot of effort to write this SEMrush Review.
Monitor Changes in Statistics: The Display Advertising Feature also allows you to see the changes in statics which depend on the ads and the devices on which they are displayed. Your display campaign will be visible across tablets, PCs, smartphones, etc. All of which results in being able to see which devices are producing the most impressions, check if text ads are doing better than media ads or vice versa and adjust your campaign settings to allow for better interaction.
Brand Monitoring also allows you to get insights into how competitors and other industry leaders are creating opportunities which you can seize. You can research their present and past activities which then means you’re able to adopt their best practices and find ways to distribute your content saving you time and money which would otherwise be spent on trial and error. So, in a way you are learning from what the competition is doing right.
their tools for seo and sem are great, especially the audit tool and campaign tracking. I rely on their customer friendly graphs and competitive intelligence to show customers where they measure up to the competition and where they're performing well. It's really hard to estimate traffic to any particular site, but SEM Rush has some algorithm that calculates it. They also produce great content on their blog and with webinars. They really know who their audience is. I've also found their support to be top notch and are helpful walking you through using the tools features. Campaign tracking and SERP monitoring are also very useful. I've used the site audit feature for years now too.
Your website is the “hub” of your online brand – so, it’s important to have regular checkups to ensure everything is in order. It’s also important to note that your website is a living digital property, it’s typically not stagnant for long periods of time. In any given year, content is added and/or removed from your site. It is for this reason that audits should occur on a regular basis. We recommend that websites be audited at a minimum of once per year. That allows your teams to fix critical issues as they arise.
I’m a big fan of Semrush however I do find the data more reliable for the bigger markets like the UK and the USA as opposed to Australia or Asian sites. I have generally used it in the past when I have specific projects going on in these larger markets as opposed to subscribing continuously. It is actually quite easy to start and stop the subscription. If I had the ongoing need I would definitely have an ongoing subscription.
We use the tool mainly to help with our SEO clients. Personally, I like the rating tool on the page. I think it's a great way to compare your page with the top 10 ranking pages for a specific keyword. The site audit in particular can offer quick answers. SEMrush is our main SEO tool and really does it all, especially with the massive updates from last year. Track keyword ranking positions, offer some keyword search tools and compare the domain with others related to it. You can also automate reports that are labeled blank. It also performs domain analysis, tracking of backlinks and audits of sites that we use all the time in our SEO business.

Faizan, since you have a new blog, so you should go for least competitive keywords. You can use SEMrush Keyword difficulty (KD) metrics while doing keyword research for your niche. Don’t target keywords that has more than 50 KD and monthly search volume should not be more than 500-600. Please let me know in case you have any additional question for me.
Thank you for the great checklist. It is really useful and gave us a couple of new hints on optimization process. We’ve been using WebSite Auditor and found it exremely helpful in site’s structure and content analysis, bringing all the statistical information on the validation errors, social mentions, duplicate stuff, etc. under one roof. Still there is so many different SEO information you sometimes cannot understand what to start with. Fortunately you answered this question. Thank you again!
